Van Gogh Museum

The Van Gogh Museum is a museum that houses the largest collection of paintings and drawings of the famous Dutch painter Vincent van Gogh. It is located on the Museumplein in the very heart of the city and is one of the top Amsterdam’s attractions.
The Van Gogh museum (main structure) was opened in 1973, while the Exhibition Wind which was designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa was completed in 1999. In addition to works of Vincent van Gogh which also include the Sunflowers, The Potato Eaters and The Bedroom, the permanent collection also features works of other 19th century prominent artists such as Lawrence Alma-Tadema, George Henry Boughton, Thomas Couture, Gustave Boulanger, Paul Gauguin, Maurice Denis, Jules Breton, Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, Paul Signac and many others.
The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. and Fridays until 22:00 p.m. Tickets can be also bought in advance online.
